if you ever feel embarrassed of your past self just think about how much character development you’ve had since then
this is truly inspiring
So one of my best friends had a medieval fantasy wedding
at a hella cool castle
the groom channeled Thranduil and the Baratheons
the bridesmaids were elf maidens
the court jester and town crier were there
the cakes were gorgeous
luckily a friar was passing through town who was able to officiate (“mawwaige,” he said, “is what bwings us togevver today”)
the bride’s chariot was pulled by the most beautiful creature
unfortunately, as with all medieval weddings, there is the dragon problem
When you’re feeling down and out, REAL friends be like
okay but the guy in blue gets up and hold onto the back of the red guys shirt like a small child or perhaps a duckling
so guys i was trying to cheer someone up with harry potter memes and i found some really good ones
look at these
i feel like i just relived 2008
Collegehumors’ new video is on point as always
It’s even funnier when you see the White Tears in the comment section saying EXACTLY what the actors say in the video.
oh my god
PEOPLE ARE LIKE RASPBERRIES
Some are dark skinned
Some are light skinned
Some are big and some are small
Some look ‘complete’ and other might not be quite there
But no matter what
If you put them together
And blend them up
They taste pretty darn good
I’m getting you professional help.
send this to your crush with no context
facts that people manage to miss despite being made abundantly clear by the dialogue:
- john is sherlock’s only pressure point
- irene is a self-identified lesbian
- john’s orientation is unconfirmed other than him not being exclusively attracted to men
- sherlock wasn’t conscious to be able to know who called his ambulance
- mycroft and sherlock love each other
I agree with the point you are trying to make, I’m just being persnickety.
Doesn’t Sherlock have loads of pressure points? Isn’t that what the writers were trying to get across, and wasn’t that what Magnussun saw when he looked at him? Cocaine, and Redbeard, and, sure, John, too. They were trying to be like ‘look! Sherlock is human! he has many pressure points!’. Even if Johnlock was/is canon, Sherlock would still have more than one pressure point.
Those were potential pressure points, hence why they were scrolling (Magnussen hadn’t settled), why he said “Redbeard” (he was testing for a response) and why he later said “very hard to find a pressure point on you, Mr. Holmes” (singular).
A pressure point is a part of the body that, when pressed, incapacitates the person in question. The only weakness of Sherlock’s that pressing can have an incapacitating effect on is John.
This has nothing whatsoever to do with Johnlock - one of John’s pressure points was Harry. I do think that Sherlock is in love with John, but this isn’t about that - it’s about him being the most important person in his life, the person he will do anything to protect.
But we know Sherlock had more than one pressure point, because if you touch Mrs Hudson you get thrown out of a window, and if you undermine Lestrade you get called an idiot for the rest of your life.
John is an important person in Sherlock’s life (one he may or
may notbe in love with), he is in no way the most important person. As the original post states - Mycroft and Sherlock love each other.
I admit upon reflection the post does not have a clear tjc slant, that’s just the way I read it, but what I was mainly focusing was the ~only~ issue.
They’re not pressure points in the same way, though. Yes, he’s very protective of his friends, but he wouldn’t go to the same extents protecting them as he would protecting John - using them doesn’t incapacitate him.
That said, when I said “only pressure point” I meant “only pressure point confirmed by the text” - had Magnussen witnessed Sherlock’s response to the American attacking Mrs Hudson, he may well have considered using her as leverage.
